| Kathmandu, 24th October 1985 Dear God Parent, I am writing this short letter by your pen. I invited mr. Schaab at my home on 23rd. Also other 3 members were accompagnied with him. We received your beautiful present. We all like it very muich. Mostly Tenzin loves it very much. On behalf of the family, I would like to say thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. ![]() Two
monks from India has come to dress-up for Tenzin on 31st of October. In our first
meeting with the lama , they offer us white scarf which is a sign of good luck. Meantime
I tell them about yourself and they were happy to listening and offer you three white
scarfs (called
Nangtso's) which contains Tibetan
letters on the boarder and eight good luck signs in the middle. This Nagtso is unusual.
I mean we are using scarfs, but this Nongtso is only using by great lama's. This
Nagtso, they offer you with prayer of many best whishes of hapopiness in your whole
life. They also do hope you will care about Tenzin. Your two small boxes of cigars are beautiful. Yes, we give present with the scarf to H.H. the Dalai Lama. Of course I could. But cigars and alcoholics are restricted by the lamas. Specially Budhist lamas are not smoking as well as not drinking alcoholics. So I will sell the boxes and will offer the money to H.H. the Dalai Lama in your name. In later letter I will sent you a photo of the late Dagyab Chungtsang Rinpoche. Chokey
sends her love and regards to Anke. Looking for your reply with many best wishes.Yours Wangdu , Chokey and Tenzin (Picture of the late Dagyab Chungtsang Rinpoche, that passed away in Lhasa in 1958) |
