Lhasa, April 10,
1983
Our beloved Godfather, mother and the family,
Thank you ever so much for your most kind letter of March 22nd, which we received
here just yesterday. It really made us feel so happy and this our happiness knows
no bound or receiped of such unexpected letter to Lhasa from such a distance. My
father and other members of family too were so pleased to hear all about yoiu, especially
seeing those photographs.
Well, the reason that took us 28 days to reach Lhasa from Nepal was due to heavy
snowfall which blocked trafic and seconly because of the Chinese New Year during
which everybody had rest and so nobody would drive. The actual time it takes to reach
Lhasa, means just three days. So you see, the distance between Nepal and Lhasa is
not that much.
It was a dream that came to be true, as I was away from home forlast few years during
which my father missed me so badly as I missed him and other family memebers. But
this time when I arrived home, it really brought a light to our home and family.
Now we are once again together for a few months. So we all are very pleased to meet
each other. Chokey too was very pleased to see my family as it is her maiden trip
to Tibet.
It may take me another one month to be back to Nepal because my father is not feeling
well for the moment . I plan to return to Nepal when he gets better.
Here I am sending 6 copies of our shaps which we took after our arrival in Lhasa.
I hope you will like them. We hope and pray that you all are well and happy. Here
we are also well.
With all our love, best whishes and due regards.
Yours faithfully
Wangdu and Chokey |
