Lhasa , March 10th, 1983
My dearest God-father and family,
We hope and pray that you all are keeping well and happy. Here we are also as before,
so please do not worry about us.
We are sorry to inform you that we could not write you from Nepal at the time of
our departure for Lhasa. Now we are in Lhasa and hope to stay for about 2 months
and then return to Nepal. So during this period of two months, please do not take
any trouble of writing to us in Nepal.
Now Tibet has changed a lot and every one is very happy. My father too is keeping
well and he is very happy to see us in Lhasa. He really enjoys being in our company
as we did not meet for a couple of years.
This is Chokey and our little son Tenzin maiden trip to Tibet and it is their first
time of seeing Lhasa. They too liked it very much. We are paying few visits to the
great and famous monasteries of Lhasa. We have als shown all your photographs to
my father and told him all about your kindness and assistance to us. He is very happy
to know all about you.
Whenever, we return to Nepal, we hope to send you a few photo's of Lhasa and our
family's too. We do not have as the courage to send you these photo's from here as
it may not reach you since the distance is really great.
The preparation of our current trip to Lhasa was very smooth and everything went
well, especially making the passport and so on.
We left Nepal on 8th of February and reached Lhasa on 9th of March. We will write
you at the end of April and tell you everything about our family.
Now we are closing this letter. With all our love, best whishes and regards to you.
Enclosing a photo taken at the boarder of Nepal-China.
Yours faithfully
