Kathmandu, 11 March 1982

Dear Chris Gerry and Anke,

We hope you all are well and happy and same for us. Here Chokey is ready to leave for Lhasa. The reason for not going soon was because of there was snow fall on the way and the roads were jammed.
The Anapurna at sunrise
When Chokey will visit our parents and on the way back we will write about our parents living there.
When I heard the news about Tibet from you I was extremely glad.
Here Kesang Dorje is well and he has no disease at all. My mother at the ripe age of 72 left us, the reason for this is that the Chinese tortured her. But my father is alive in Tibet at the age of 58. I have two elder brothers and two younger sisters in Tibet. I have many things to say about Tibet but I cannot express in other ways.
This year Losar we had enjoyed and stayed happily. Here we have a small hotel and we cannot afford much because of deficient of money. There we cannot afford much from this hotel and we thought to make contact with other people in the Netherland so we can do some business to afford.

In the early days of mine I did not get any chance to be educated and I had spent my childhood by picking pieces of wood. When I ran from Kalingpong and settled in Nepal I didn't know what sadness is and I began to think as a child thinks. Now I have taken responsible of myself.
I am also eager to go to Tib et thanks to you for some information about Tibet. I will try to make you meet with my parent in the following year. My father's name is Nórgey.
Ipray to you all for your health. Please inform me if there is any people from there to which I can make contact with him/her.
Now I will close this letter.

Kesang Dorje, Tsering Wangdu and Chokey.
