Kathmandu, 3 January, 1982 My dearest Godfather, Godmother and family, Thank you ever so much for your most kind letter and nice photographs, which we received on 19th of Dec. We were so pleased and very happy to go through your encouraging letter. Our first born baby-son was born in November 7th at 3 p.m. in the hospital. Now both mother and baby are keeping well and making progress as day passes. Mr. Lindeman has so kindly taken a photo of us and told us that he would send it to you and told us nothing else. As you already know that I was born in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet and I am planning to send Chokey to my birth place, but unfortunately there is financial problem, so I may have to wait till the proper time favours us. During the day, I am just roaming around in search of making little money and rest of my time I nspend with learning English which I feel is very important according to your kind advice and time also demands. I had sent you few photos of Lhasa through mr. Lindeman. Those photo's were sent to me by my father and I hope you must have received them by now. I would very much like to tell you everything of my life, but for the time being, it's a rather long story and thus I really hope that you will visit Nepal again and then I tell you personally. Now we do not stay any longer in Summit Hotel as it's quite expensive and Chokey too was not feeling well. But we still stay very near to it. Before I end my letter I would like to thank you so much for your kindness towards us which we will never forget in this life. You are now our soul and light as I just came from Tibet leaving behind all my family and misery, yet there is always financial problems in Nepal, specially being a new-comer. In this hour of sad and unhappy life, you are supporting us to lead a new life and always enoucraged by your kind words and help. I still feel sad because I could not talk to you when you were here in Nepal.
